Sherry Middleton

Sherry Middleton, PTA

I am Sherry Middleton, a 51-year-old born at the Livingston Hospital in small town Livingston Texas. I attended Livingston public school until my graduation from high school in June 1988. I ventured to college and graduated from Texas Woman’s University in 1991 with my Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology followed by a Physical Therapist Assistance degree from Houston Community College in August 1993.  I have been a full time PTA at Livingston Physical Therapy since August of 1993.

During my high school years, I was incredibly involved in many in-school and out of school activities. I began working at Livingston Physical Therapy the summer between my 8th and 9th grade year, in 1984. My job duties included generalized cleaning, filing, cleaning hot packs machines, and cleaning whirlpools and basic interaction with patients. That summer piqued my career in physical therapy.

On September 25, 1993, I married my love, Leon Middleton. We have 2 daughters, Krislyn and Karlie. Krislyn age 24, married Ethan Placker on May 23, 2020. Krislyn and Ethan have returned to Livingston post college to work in our community. Karlie, age 20, is a college student pursuing a degree in education/criminal justice.

My community involvement in my younger years has carried on. My husband and I are active in First Baptist Church. I have been in Pilot Club, a civic organization, since 1994, and on the Miss Polk County Committee since 1995.

My hobbies include family/friend time, baking, reading, shopping, and beach time. I have great joy working in a community that I grew up in and helping the ones I love and know restore function so that they can return to the activities they love.

In conclusion, Polk County is a special town to me and my family because of the wonderful people who also call this area home.
